ومع اقتراب انعقاد المؤتمر العالمي للاتحاد الدولي لصون الطبيعة (IUCN) نتوقف عند تسارع أزمة المناخ التي تخطّت حدود الكوكب، وما قد يفرضه الواقع بحلول عام 2030 من خيارات قسرية وغير مرغوبة مثل تقنيات التقاط الكربون والهندسة الجيولوجية، لما تحمله من انعكاسات خطيرة على السيادة الغذائية والتضخم الاقتصادي.

كما نناقش الحاجة إلى الابتكار المالي والتحول نحو العمل الميداني المحلي والملموس، بدل الاستغراق في تعقيدات التنسيق بين الاتفاقيات الدولية التي كثيرًا ما تبطئ التنفيذ.

وتختتم إيمان بالتأكيد على أن نماذج الصون المستقبلية يجب أن تكون أكثر عدلاً وإنصافًا اجتماعيًا، مشدّدة على أن الإنسانية لا تكتمل من دون الطبيعة .

As the IUCN World Conservation Congress approaches, we reflect on the accelerating climate crisis that has exceeded planetary boundaries, and on the difficult, often undesirable choices the world may face by 2030 — such as carbon capture technologies and geoengineering — with their serious implications for food sovereignty and economic inflation.

We also discuss the urgent need for financial innovation and for a shift toward tangible, local action, instead of remaining entangled in the slow and complex coordination between international agreements.

Imen concludes by emphasizing that future conservation models must be more equitable and socially just, stressing that humanity cannot exist without nature.
